Prabhupada Letters :: 1968
An interesting tidbit:
"I was in flight test engineering in Doc Hallan's group in the 1950's. The flight surgeon would come around every month and remind all of us, "Don't you dare touch any garlic 72 hours before you fly any of our airplanes, because it'll double or triple your reaction time..."
The head priest of Banke Bihari Mandir, one of India's oldest temples, has been sacked for dressing up the statue of Krishna in denims and a T-shirt.
But as always, our success was the envy of our opposition, who stepped up their campaign to discredit us. The local priest in the town where we stayed continued his daily postings on the town bulletin board, sometimes going beyond the ridiculous: "Attention, citizens! The Hare Krsna cult is now growing rice in the football field to feed the guru."

But also those who don’t get married and those who have already surpassed this phase of life will greatly benefit by knowing the basic dynamics, the rapport of weights and measures, the values of family life in the Vedic-Vaisnava civilization.

The most notable of course is

Did you know that Harrison's Something was actually written about Lord Krishna? George changed he to she in that song so that people would not misunderstand what he was trying to say. Unfortunately I believe it is just taken as a beautiful piece of music. And Here Comes the Sun was George's way of singing about how his meditation on Krishna had cleared up some very dark periods in his life.

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!
At the temple in Vancouver, a lady named Louisa has been coming to the Bhagavad-gita class for over six months. She bought two books from me, saying "It's time to start my library." When I asked her how she had come in contact with Krishna consciousness, she replied, "I'm from Poland. My father bought a Bhagavad-gita when I was a little girl. I always looked at the fascinating pictures, but I didn't know it was about Krishna. Later on, when I was a teenager in our small village, we had a regular gathering of spiritual people. They listened to an audiocassette of the Hare Krishna mantra and tried to chant along as best they could. Then I moved to Vancouver. (Now I'm 26.) My friend has a friend who is a devotee, and she gave some of us a tour of Vancouver. She said, 'Let's visit the Hare Krishna temple.' When I stepped into the temple, I saw Srila Prabhupada and said, 'Oh, that's the same man whose picture was in the book my father got when I was a kid.' Then the devotees started chanting Hare Krishna. My reaction was, 'Wow! That's the same song from the village gathering I would attend when I was a teenager.'"
She feels at home with us and is practicing Krishna consciousness.
Hare Krishna.
Your servant,

Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu said, “Though the hearts of the gopis are like high-standing hills, they are inundated by the waves of the nectarean ocean of Krsna’s beauty. His sweet voice enters their ears and gives them transcendental bliss, the touch of His body is cooler than millions and millions of moons together, and the nectar of His bodily fragrance overfloods the entire world. O My dear friend, that Krsna, who is the son of Nanda Maharaja and whose lips are exactly like nectar, is attracting My five senses by force.”
Sandisk is now the top MP3 player maker behind Apple (which isn’t saying much in terms of actual sale numbers, but still is worth at least something). Their latest line of players are really good. The Sandisk Sansa e200 series of players.
Here’s a review of the Sandisk Sansa e260. I get all my desired specs in one slick little player.
It’s an absorbing voyage in cyber space to stumble upon the ‘perfect player’. There’s forever something lacking from my ideal… so here’s to second best.
